Fleeta & Zula

Sometimes I make a doll from someone else's pattern.   I see the finished doll as a collaborative effort.  It's like a musician doing a cover of someone else's song.  eleanor peace bailey is a doll maker that I admire.  She is a creative free spirit.  This is doll purse is based on one of her patterns.

Fleeta and Zula are named after Elaine Fuller's maiden aunts.  Elaine suggested the names while I was embroidering the faces.   We were on a long train ride at the time.  Zula is a bit happier than Fleeta because her bee hive is higher than Zula's bun.
