Arrest and incarceration of women

Orange is the New Black has me thinking about the experience of getting arrested and doing time.  This is a series of digital drawings based on mug shots and other relevant images I found looking around the internet.  What I found made me realize that there is a history of women being incarcerated for gender based crimes.
